Jordan Moon graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in May 2012. Along with a journalism degree, he also received a political science degree from Arizona State University at that time. He is a co-founder of Ability Counts Tempe, a disability awareness organization at ASU.
Moon, who is legally blind, believes that the disability community, in particular those who are blind and deaf, have not receive adequate coverage in the media. As Jordan looks for work, he intends to work tirelessly on this blog, in order to contribute to a better understanding of the blind and deaf communities. The Goal of the Perfect Defect is to stimulate a conversation about and contribute to improved coverage of the issues that blind and deaf communities face by engaging in quality journalism that doesn’t advocate, but explains.
