Fearing The Blind?

It is hard for many people to understand what life would be like without sight or sound. When speaking or noticing blind or deaf people, many people are scared. But why do so many people fear? What is it about them that scare society?

In a recent article in the New York Times, that question was asked about blind people. The author, Rosemary Mahoneyjan, a Rhode Island teacher of the blind, states that people are stunned when they find out that she is a teacher of the blind. They ask her how she talks to them, if they can hear better and what they’re like.
